The 4-Year Practitioner Program is a comprehensive training experience leading to certification as a Core Energetics Practitioner.

Highly experiential, this program is designed for students to develop in three distinct yet overlapping areas of competence.

Theoretical Competence
The curriculum provides the main theoretical & philosophical constructs that underly, support and define the Core Energetics evolutionary model.

Personal and Spiritual Development
The program provides a model for personal evolution, energetic integration and spiritual growth and develops the capacity for presence, open-hearted living and deeper engagement with all of life.

Applied Methodology / Practical Application of Core Energetics
The program provides the training needed for graduates to responsibly practice Core Energetics and be able to engage clients at every level of being (body, emotions, mind, will and spirit) to support both healing and the clearing of obstacles that hold humans back from bringing forth their inherent gifts.

The first two years are pre-clinical years. Students develop a foundational understanding of the four-stage Core Energetics methodology as insight into human energy dynamics deepens. At the same time students actively engage in a conscious and embodied process of personal growth through self awareness and interactive participation in process group and in various exercises and experiences with the class and the community. Students in both programs participate in these two pre-clinical years together.

Students gain an embodied understanding of the nuances of energy and consciousness as the building blocks of human experience. The character defense structures are explored, in all their physical, psychological and energetic manifestations, as keys to understanding human behavior patterns and as the source of most life issues—as well as an entrance into the individual’s unique gifts. Various layers of the personality: the mask, lower self and higher self are studied. Students gain fluency in identifying which layer they or others are acting from, while simultaneously understanding the impact this has on authentic presence and full engagement with life.

The third and fourth years of the training emphasize the development of clinical skills in the student-practitioner. Themes that support clinical proficiency, such as; assessment, transference, countertransference, resistance, trauma work, working with groups, as well as many others, are explored. Students practice working with the body to release energy blocks, support flow and facilitate integration of newfound awareness. Personal growth is ongoing in classes, community events and process groups as students deepen self-knowledge, as well as integrate and embody the work. It is during this stage in the training that student-practitioners initiate work with clients under the guidance of a supervisor to gain competence in applying the methods in the practice of Core Energetics.

Note: As part of this program all students also take two Ethics courses. Students who do not have professional clinical backgrounds are also required to take Clinical Skills training. These additional courses are offered by the Institute and included in the tuition.

After completion of the Personal Growth Program students may choose to enroll in the Embodied Leadership Program. Participants are mentored by seasoned faculty who support them to manifest a primary project or specific life goal. Participants work to enhance the embodiment and expression of their unique leadership skills.

Each weekend, participants dig deeper into specific areas of their life where they sense they are being personally called into greater leadership. The group becomes a team that supports, motivates and challenges its members to grow and reach personal objectives through lively discussion, dynamic exercises and experiential processes designed to bring deeper consciousness, wholeness and aliveness.

Students in this program participate alongside those in their class years (Core 3 and 4 of the Practitioner training track), as the need for deepening insight and training in human dynamics is considered essential for self-responsibility and embodied empowerment. The group meets on Sunday mornings to focus specifically on Leadership themes and their direct application to current circumstances and personal goals.

Sunday Year 3 Themes:

  • What is Leadership
  • Consciousness of Negative Intentions, Negative Pleasure and Inner Blocks to Embodied Leadership
  • Identifying the Vicious Cycle Within
  • Engaging Positive Will
  • Claiming Your Capacity for Greatness

Sunday Year 4 Themes:

  • BRIDGING: Inner and Outer WorkIntegrating the Past and Brainstorming for the Future
  • Assuming the Commitment to Engagement and Action
  • Expression of the Real Self: Leadership from our Essence
  • Responsibility for All Our Actions Encountering frustrations in leadership
  • Final Project Presentations

The 2-Year Personal Growth Program offers participants a methodology for awakening embodied consciousness and deepening insight into how your energy system interacts and co-creates relational dynamics with others and influences the circumstances of your life.

Students learn the foundational elements of the four stages of the Core Energetics process through a combination of didactic presentation and interactive experiencing as they also engage every level of selfhood: body, emotions, mind, will and spirit. Awareness of how blocks in the energy system form and distort reality is gained as students are introduced to character theory and the character defenses as a lens for  understanding personal struggles and behavior patterns. Consciousness expands and new possibilities emerge as participants learn how living in the mask (the idealized or false self) and staying unconscious of the lower self (unconscious destructive currents) hide authentic and innate qualities (the higher self).

NOTE: The 2-Year program also forms the pre–clinical foundation of the 4-Year Practitioner program. Students successfully completing this program may be eligible to transfer into the 4-Year Practitioner program,  if they have also met all the requirements and assignments that are the required for the 4-Year Practitioner program. Or they may opt to transfer into the 4-year Embodied Leadership program.

The Postgraduate year provides advanced training for Certified Core Energetics Practitioners and supports participants in attaining a high level of professional presence and leadership. The program is open to application from graduates from Core Energetics Practitioner programs worldwide and invites participants to come together with other professionals to enhance their practice and skills in Core Energetics, deepen connections, and to take their personal journey one step further within the enriching atmosphere of the Institute community.

The program offers depth and breadth in specialized aspects of the work as each module focuses on one theme which is developed over the three days of the weekend. Classes are led by seasoned and specialized faculty members and meets on the same weekends as other Institute programs. The classes have a distinct feel and have been described by graduates as more professional and collegial as participants also bring their expertise and experience to one another.

Postgraduate Themes

  • Weekend 1: Leadership and Advanced Core Energetic Group Skills
  • Weekend 2: Sexuality in Clinical Practice
  • Weekend 3: Core Energetics for Couples
  • Weekend 4: Neuroscience, Psychosomatics and Core Energetics
  • Weekend 5: Living your Life Plan and Life Task

Other components of the weekend are: Personal process time so that postgraduate students can share themselves with one another in authentic ways, receive support, and work with the feelings, resistance, and transference issues that emerge within the group over the course of the program. Supervision Group is another component which takes place in a small group format that discusses actual clients rather than the live session format used during years 3 and 4.

An important component of professional development in the postgraduate year is the opportunity to gain a particular expertise in some facet of Core Energetics through the completion of a final project. With the support of a project mentor, participants have an opportunity to delve deeply into an aspect of the work that speaks to them. Project milestones are spaced out over the course of the year and culminate in a project presentation to guests, faculty members and 4th year students at the June weekend.

Participants receive individual support to put themselves forward as leaders in the work and to create and lead a Core Energetics workshop during the course of the year.

Supervision is required. Individual sessions are strongly encouraged, but are no longer required.
