Meet the Faculty

Executive Director



Kate Holt, RN of Marlton, New Jersey is a 2003 graduate of the Institute’s Practitioner Training and completed her postgraduate training in 2004. After assisting for two years Kate became an Institute faculty member. Since that time she has been teaching Core Energetics in the U.S. and internationally. She served as a member of the Institute’s Board of Directors and chaired its Marketing and Communications Committee for two and half years. Kate owns Holt Mentoring and Education Services, which includes her private practice, working with individuals, couples and groups, as well as integrated business mentoring programs for transformation industry entrepreneurs around the globe. Kate brings strong management skills from her prior healthcare industry experience. She has a deep love for the work of Core Energetics and its ripple effect in the world.

Academic Director


Lisa is the Academic Director of the Institute of Core Energetics, as well as the Director of Core Energetics Connecticut. She trains Core Energetics practitioners in Body Psychotherapy Institutes around the world, including Brazil, Australia, Holland, Mexico, and the United States. Lisa has been in private practice in Norwalk, CT since 1994, fostering the growth of individuals and couples and leading process groups. She holds a Masters in Fine Arts, is an Ordained Spiritual Counselor, and a CT State registered Hypnotherapist. Lisa brings passion, presence, and intuitive creativity to her work.


Faculty Members


Kuno BachbauerKuno grew up in Austria, where, early on he was attracted to the combination of therapy, bodywork, and spirituality. His path led him to India and then to the USA where he settled in Washington, DC. After a life–changing experience with John Pierrakos, M.D. , Kuno decided to train in Core Energetics as a Core Energetic Practitioner. He graduated in 1992 and continued to train to become a senior faculty member so that he can share his passion with the students. Kuno’s specialty is in relating current medical findings of the connection between mind, body, and emotions to the Core Energetics process.



Sherri Brown, CCEP, is a faculty member at the Institute. She previously taught at Nyack Living Core and is the co-creator and co-facilitator of the Corevolution Program of Personal Transformation. She operates a full-time practice in NYC, working with individuals, couples (EMM Certified), and facilitating group process.  Sherri’s work is primarily concerned with helping people to live the fullest expression of themselves, assisting her clients to step into the power that comes from knowing their purpose.  Sherri’s training came as an inaugural graduate of the Radical Aliveness Core Energetics Institute of California and she is now on their faculty as well. She approaches her work with gratitude to her guides, specifically Ann Bradney and Warren Moe for allowing her to explore the work as an interpretive, and deeply creative art.


DSC_0171 (1)Jac has been a Core Energetics Practitioner since 1978 and a Pathwork Helper since 1979. He has a private practice in NYC and in Olivebridge, NY, and he also does financial consulting for small and closely held businesses, specializing in family businesses.






DSC_0026 (1)Charles Corley, MEd, LMHC is a senior faculty member of the Institute of Core Energetics and is a member of its Executive Committee. He has a full–time private practice as a Core Energetics Therapist working with individuals, couples, and families. Charles has twenty–seven years of experience facilitating groups in areas including substance abuse and actor support, as well as men’s and adolescent groups.




Aidan_Fisher_smAfter being profoundly touched by Core Energetics in my own life, I pursued the four year training program to become a Core Energetics Therapist, at the Institute of Core Energetics, in New York.  Since 2002, I accumulated over 2,000 hours of experience through participation in private sessions, group therapy, workshops and supervision sessions. I have assisted with Ann Bradney, Director of the Radical Aliveness / Core Energetics Institute of Southern California. I also serve as a teaching assistant and member of the faculty with the Institute of Core Energetics, in New York.



Brian Gleason, LCSW, is a licensed psychotherapist and has been in private practice for 20 years. With a special interest in working with individuals and couples around committed relationships, Brian and his wife Marcia have developed a process called Exceptional Marriage, which integrates Core Energetics into relationship therapy. Brian is a senior faculty member with private practices in New York City and Westchester, NY.





Marcia Gleason Marcia Gleason, LCSW has 35 years of experience in clinical social work. Her primary private practice modalities are a synthesis of Core Energetics, Internal Family Systems and Embodied Couples Work. She and her husband Brian have created the “Exceptional Marriage Mentoring Program” and together they teach Embodied Couples Work Trainings in New York, Mexico, Europe and Australia. Her specialties include the integration of body psychotherapy, inner child work, relationships, marriage and sexuality. Marcia’s qualities as a therapist include her capacity for creating a safe environment for clients to express themselves fully, develop self respect and empathy, and her ability to sense and assist clients in opening the blocks that prevent them from embracing what they truly want in their lives. She is co-author of two books on relationships.



Jim Johnston CCEP is on the faculty at the Institute of Core Energetics, has served on the faculty of New York Living Core, Nyack Living Core, and is co-founder of Corevolution State of the Heart Personal Transformation in New York City. He has a private practice in Manhattan working with individuals, couples, and he leads process groups in the city and at the institute. Core Energetics had a profound effect on his personal process leading him to leave an almost 30-year career in another field to be a Core Energetic Practitioner. He is passionate about building community and co-creating space with his clients to heal and move into a richer more fulfilling life.



Cynthia Kagoshima CCEP is the Communications Administrator at the Institute of Core Energetics. She also Co-Leads the Art of Practice Core Process Group, and has a private practice in NYC and NJ. Cynthia works deeply with emotion and encourages her clients to find and trust in their own wisdom. By exploring reactions, feelings and habits, individuals come to understand what it means to dwell in the truth of the moment. She believes the Core Energetics process allows individuals to embrace all aspects of themselves thereby creating freedom and depth of life experience.



Barra has a life–long affinity for somatic work. She is a certified Core Energetics practitioner and a member of the faculty of the Institute of Core Energetics. She has been teaching yoga and doing body-work for 35 years. Committed to being a conduit for change, her training and advanced certification in Core Energetics have brought together her graduate degree in psychology and her passion for exploring the language of the body. She is a professor of Communication at George Mason University, focusing on Nonverbal and Interpersonal Communication skills for individuals, couples, and groups. For nine years, she was on the faculty and Artistic Director of the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts. Barra is adept at assisting the healing of deep wounds and inner conflicts by bringing practical communication skills and deep body-work to the powerful modality that is Core Energetics.



karin faceKarin holds certificates in Core Energetics, Exceptional Marriage Mentoring, Radical Aliveness, One Spirit Alliance, and has studied the Pathwork lectures in depth. She has served on the faculty of the Institute of Core Energetics since 2001. She is trilingual, speaking English, German, and French and has a background in photography. She is the owner of Core Relations and has a private practice in New York City and Greenwich, CT where she works with individuals, couples and groups. Her desire is to facilitate a process that allows men and women to embody their full potential.




Jessica has extensive experience working in a broad range of settings including: community mental health services for adults, crisis hotlines, clinical services for teenagers, running workshops for the broader community and private practice since 2010. She graduated from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing (2011), Core Energetics (2010: Post Grad 2014) and is currently finishing a Bachelor of Science Majoring in Psychology through the University of Southern Queensland.

She is a faculty member at the Institute of Core Energetics New York and the Institute of Body psychotherapy in Brisbane, Australia. Jessica is an avid traveler and has a deep appreciation for the rich diversity of different cultures and lifestyles. She loves working with people from all walks of life and backgrounds. In her personal life she enjoys hiking with her family, the arts and fermenting foods.


Ted RiskinTed Riskin, LCSW is a psychotherapist specializing in relationship issues and transpersonal psychology. After practicing in northern NJ for 19 years, he relocated to Asheville, NC, where he has been developing a new space for therapy, workshops, and residential retreats, while continuing to work with clients via phone and Skype. Though he maintains a satellite office in Fairfield, NJ and continues to offer workshops in the Northeast, the beginning of 2014 marks the opening of a new practice in Asheville. Ted has certifications in Core Energetics, Internal Family Systems, Holotropic Breathwork, Integral Breath Therapy, hypnotherapy, and EMDR, and he enjoys integrating these various modalities. Besides serving on the Institute of Core Energetics faculty, he has taught IFS and Breathwork. He has practiced meditation since 1979 and has been active in the human development movement since 1985.
